SEGKWENG (2012 - 2013)

In 2012 I was asked by the SABC 2 50/50 nature show to create and produce an original bush show involving trips into the wild with experienced rangers. I combined my skills in film, animation and my background in the sciences with the knowledge of my guides. The result was the highly popular bush show called "SEGKWENG", which in Tswana means in the wilderness. I completed the second season in 2014 and the 25th show!! These are some of the memorable shows I created over the two seasons.
The Lions of Shamwari (2012)
We follow the alarm calls of impala and find a male lion, new to the territory. This could be trouble as the resident lionesses recently had cubs and the risks of infanticide are always present. We seek out the lionesses and watch..and wait.
Walking with Elephants (2012)
Expert ranger and bush guide, Johann Lombard hosts a show about African Elephants in Shamwari Game Reserve. We follow a breeding herd closely, observing them and learning about interesting aspects of their behaviour.
CSI SHAMWARI (2012)
Upon discovering the remains of an animal we set out along the crime scene, where it was killed. We discover clues and identify the victim before other evidence points to the culprits, lions! This is a Segkweng for the curious mind.
